Toronto walkabout – June 23, 2021

On all our world travels my wife lets me pick one creepy thing to do on each trip. The ossuary beneath Paris, Capuchin crypts in Rome and the Sengakuji Temple in Tokyo (47 ronin’s graveyard) to name a few. My favorite is the Cimetière du Père-Lachaise in Paris though. A true gothic cemetery with Chopin, Georges Méliès, Oscar Wilde, Sarah Bernhardt and Jim Morrison buried there. There is so much wonderful art and beauty there. The Toronto Necropolis may not be on that scale, but it does have one notable resident near and dear to me, George Romero. Today I paid him a visit. Miss you George!
