Toronto walkabout – February 10, 2021

A bittersweet walk past the Bell Lightbox this evening. So many great memories there: A series of Hitchcock master classes with Professor Guillermo del Toro and yes, he wheeled a whiteboard out on stage. Watching George Romero films with George Romero. Viggo Mortensen and David Croneberg taking friendly potshots as they interviewed each other. Jeremy Irons leering at my wife (she is cute) as he sat on the edge of the stage talking about Dead Ringers. John Landis’s enthusiasm and sheer joy as he talked about making the Blues Brothers before watching it packed with rabid fans. So many more memories too numerous to mention. I really miss this place. Even the shitty popcorn.
