As much as this trip has been a Canadian geography lesson it has been a Canadian history lesson as well. I’m still thinking about the Alexander Graham Bell Museum visit to Cape Breton. Specifically, all the work he did to help the deaf and his meeting with Helen Keller. Keller dedicated her autobiography to Bell, whom she credited with opening the “door through which I should pass from darkness into light,” and the two remained lifelong friends. I credit Helen Keller with one of my most favorite quotes.
“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.” – Helen Keller
