Longmen Grottoes
The Longmen Grottoes near Luoyang are one of China’s most remarkable collections of Buddhist cave art. Carved into limestone cliffs along the Yi River, the site contains thousands of caves and niches filled with statues and inscriptions created over several centuries.
This gallery collects our photographs from visiting the Longmen Grottoes, including the enormous Buddhist figures, intricate stone carvings, caves and dramatic cliffside setting of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
