Naples
Naples is loud, chaotic, crowded and absolutely bursting with life. It’s not a city that gently introduces itself — it hits you all at once with narrow streets, scooters, balconies, old buildings, markets and people seemingly everywhere. There’s a wonderful roughness to the place that makes it feel completely different from the more polished Italian cities.
And then there’s the pizza. Naples is the birthplace of pizza, so eating proper Neapolitan pizza here was practically a cultural obligation. Simple ingredients, blistered crust and a screaming-hot oven — proof that sometimes the best food doesn’t need to be complicated.
Looming over everything is Mount Vesuvius, an impressive reminder that one of the world’s most famous volcanoes is sitting right beside the city. Between the history, the street life, the food and the beautiful chaos, Naples certainly isn’t boring.
