London was on route and it always deserves a visit. The National Gallery and the Tate Modern are free. I had never been to Tate Modern so that was the focus of this stop. I was not disappointed. The Centre Pompidou in Paris is my favorite modern art museum, the Tate Modern runs second, slightly better than the MOMA in New York. This particular trip to London was a bit art focused. Mostly because entrance to these wonderful gallaries is free and London is an incredably expensive city. We did make to the usual toroursty haunts though, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, Covent Gardens, Tower of London to name a few (also free). We had some decent AYCE Chinese food in London’s Chinatown. Interesting to note that it was the only time we had to use paper money during the whole month’s trip in Europe. They were a cash only establishment.
