Zurich

When we arrived, there were protests all over the city and police in riot gear were everywhere. They are posting the excessive cost of living, specifically housing. It was shocking just how expensive the city of Zurich is.  We were caught off guard.  A simple wurst off the street with a chunk of bread and a small cup of mustard was $30 CDN.  Huh?   The 330ml can of coke zero to go with it was $8 CDN. Other than the expense, Zurich is such a beautiful city.  You can see the Alps from most parts of the city.  But a cable car ride up into the Alps was required for a closer look. At least I’m not afraid of heights. We also did a boat ride around Lake Zurich.  The sunny side of the lake is called the Gold Coast, and the real estate is more expensive than the opposite side, so it’s called the Silver Coast. Oh, Sorry Swiss people, the chocolate is much better in Belgium. We found Swiss chocolate to be too sweet.
