Prague

Prague was the highlight of our trip.  We had never been to eastern Europe before. This city is just bursting with culture. I mean, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart lived there, and his Prague Symphony and Don Giovanni were first performed in the city. A favorite author of mine, Franz Kafka was born here.  I always loved his take on sci-fi horror with government conspiracies woven in for good measure. What’s not to like. His book The Metamorphosis being my favorite work of his. Then there was the beer and food. Some of the best beer I’ve ever had was the Czech pilsner (Pilsner Urquell) served fresh from the tap in super size mugs. The Czech goulash and schinitzel was fantastic. We did a day long walking tour. So much to see in this amazing city. So much history. We walked along the Charles Bridge up to Prague Castle. I felt transported back in time. We lost our tour group when I stopped to buy a Golem by the old Jewish cemetery. I just had to have it! I’m always in need of protection from evil. I call my Golem, Bill.
