I was lucky enough to see most of Australia’s creatures in the wild, except for one elusive little guy, the duckbilled platypus. I decided to go to the world-renowned Sydney Aquarium to see this egg laying, poisonous mammal (the males have poisonous spurs on their hind feet). Although my camera was not the best for a dark fast-moving shot. You can see I did not do too badly.

One creature I was happy not to have seen in the wild was the box jellyfish. According to what I have read, the box jellyfish has the most toxic venom on earth. The last picture is a box jellyfish, dead under glass where it should be.

Sydney Aquarium had a neat design where you walk in, and the aquarium surrounds you. Awesome. The sharks start circling you and you can really get eye to eye with them. Although the coral and aquatic displays were impressive, nothing compared to the real thing that I had experienced in the past few months. I’m referring to The Great Barrier Reef of course.
