“Slip slidin’ away
Slip slidin’ away
You know the nearer your destination
The more you’re slip slidin’ away”

The next stop on my trip was Newcastle. This stop was to break up a 15-hour drive between Byron Bay and my next destination, the Blue Mountains. To reach the Blue Mountains I would have to drive past the top of Sydney towards Australia’s capital of Canberra.
Anyway, Newcastle was a single night rest from the 8 hours drive from Byron Bay. It was also a stay in a hotel. Now I have spent over two months camping and sharing 6-person room dorm hostels. The hotel room stay and my first hot bath in 2 months was fantastic. I even raided the bar fridge. Ahhhh, civilization!! So, here are just a few pics of Newcastle as I was back on the road to the Blue Mountains at 6 am the next morning. I did manage to get a picture with my finger as reference of an Australian mosquito or “mozzy” as they call them. As you can see, they are at least 10-20 times the size of our Canadian variety. My finger did survive.
