Thanks to friend who sent me this video below on the life of Fred Gwyne. I fondly remember racing home to catch episodes of The Munsters or The Adamms Family. I grew up only knowing Fred Gwynne as Herman Munster and it more recent years for his scene stealing roles in My Cousin Vinnie and Stephen King’s Pet Sematary. Fred was much more than these roles. I was surprised to find out he was an accomplished author of children’s books in his later years. I’d like to give thanks to Fred for Hurman Munster. It was just as important to me as Karloff’s Frankenstein. Both taught me that some monsters aren’t really monsters at all, just misunderstood. That was very relatable to me growing up, still is.
